Frequently Asked Questions about Our Cold Food Packaging
Bagasse, bioplastics and kraft paperboard. Each material has unique benefits and is ideal for use with cold foods.
Bagasse is the fiber left behind when sugarcane juice is extracted. The fiber is then molded through a high-pressure, high-heat process into versatile meat trays, produce trays and other food packaging products.
Yes!These are great for over-the-counter and takeout services where your food may be spilled or contaminated. If it spoils, this cold food packaging can be composted at home or commercially or thrown away as general waste – it will quickly break down into natural elements that won’t harm the environment.
Everything in the collection is either recyclable, compostable and biodegradable. Each packaging material has different advantages, but that also means it has different requirements at end of life. Bagasse and bioplastic packaging are not recyclable because they are made from natural plant fibers. In contrast, our kraft paper packaging is easily recyclable (and will degrade naturally if disposed of as general waste).
Bagasse is suitable for both hot and cold products and is very useful for food packaging and tableware. Additionally, it can be placed in the refrigerator and microwave. It is waterproof and suitable for greasy foods and high temperature applications (up to 120°C)
